KV75エンジン組み上げ　ガスケット作成　[KV75] [編集]

エンジンが組み上がるまで後少し、と書くと、実際の作業に時間が掛かっているように読めますが、実際の作業は、丁寧かつ迅速に進んでいます。
今回の、ガスケット作成は、注文していたガスケットシートが届くのを、待ってから行われました。
ガスケットを待つ間に、別の作業は進みます。
このカスタムショップは、寒い時期でも大忙し、オーナさんは、ただでさえも寝る間もなく働いていらっしゃいますが、暖かくなれば、更に忙しさが増します。

ガスケットシートが届くまでに、厚紙に型取りをしていただきました。
型取りひとつ見ても、作業の丁寧さが分かります。
ちなみに、下の画像で２枚の型紙があるのは、厚紙の方を原本として、保管用として一部コピーを取って頂いたためです。
これは私が頂いて、大事に保管しておきます。

画像上が厚紙の原本、画像下がコピーした型紙です。どちらも保管用です。

原本の型紙をコピーして、ガスケットシートを切り抜きます。
合わせ面から、はみ出さないように、切りすぎないように、丁寧に切り抜いていただきました。
本当に、ショップオーナさん任せで、申し訳のない限りです。

これが、今回購入したガスケットシートです。

まず、外側を切り抜いて、ねじの位置をポンチで打ち抜きます。
内側を切り抜いた後では、ガスケットがフニャフニャして、作業がやりにくく、綺麗な穴も開きにくいそうです。この辺も要領よくですね。
ポンチは革細工用のものです。

ポンチでガツン、楽に穴が開きます。

しかし、ただ穴を開けただけでは駄目です。ちゃんとネジ穴に合うように、丸ヤスリで、穴を整形します。
ヤスリで擦っては確認、擦っては確認、きっちり整形されました。

丸ヤスリでスリスリです。

ヤスリで擦った後のバリまで、カッターナイフで綺麗にそぎ落とします。これをやっておかないと、ケースを合わせたときに、ガスケットに異物が挟んだ状態と同じになって、隙間が空くそうです。
さぁ、カバーに合わせてみましょう。

綺麗に合いました。

バイク仲間が集う、居心地の良いカスタムショップで、珈琲を飲み、バイク談義を交わし、説明を聞きながら、自分のバイクが組み上がる作業を見られる。
こんなショップは滅多にないですね。私は幸せ者です。

次回は、シリンダの取り付けかな。
